Ability Cricket Update
Indoor School Tournament
Teams from Penn Fields, Hednesford Valley, Southall, Queens Croft, Two Rivers, Westcroft and Wightwick Special Schools took part in an indoor cricket tournament at Alderskey Leisure Village, thanks to all the pupils and staff for a great day’s cricket, for the record, Westcroft came out on top winning a four-way tie on runs scored during their matches.
Table Cricket
Penn Hall and Wightwick Hall Special Schools represented Staffordshire in the Regional Finals at Edgbaston on 25th April, the competition was tough and Severndale Academy from Shropshire came out on top and will now head to Lords for the National Finals to be held this June.
VI Cricket
The guys are now training outdoors at Wolverhampton CC on the Sundays in between their Blind Cricket England & Wales matches so May’s training date will be 6th, 2.30-4.30pm. Looking forward to fixtures on Sunday 13th May home to Herefordshire and Sunday 20th home to Lancashire, both fixtures at Wolverhampton CC.
The scheduled away fixture v Worcestershire on Sunday 29th April was called off due to the bad weather, it will be re-arranged later in the Summer.
Ability Cricket
We have two fixtures in the ECB Super9s Incrediball League during May, Sunday 13th away v Derbyshire at Darley Abbey CC and Sunday 20th May home v Yorkshire at Swynnerton Park CC.
Outdoor training sessions run on Saturday mornings 5th and 12th May at Newcastle & Hartshill CC, 9.30-11am, come and get involved, we would really like to see YOU.

Rugeley CC are holding an Open Day on Sunday 3rd June which will be showcasing inclusive cricket, more information to follow
Walking Cricket
Monday Evenings: Clayton Sports Centre, 6-7.30pm every Monday
Wednesday Evenings: Alleynes Sports Centre, Stone, 5.30-7pm every Wednesday
Walking Cricket is suitable for both women and men aged 50 plus , what better way to enjoy the game, meet new people and get active. Walking Cricket is played with a softer ball and the batsman, bowler and fielders are not allowed to run.
One team took part in a Walking Cricket Festival over in Nottingham on 4th April finishing runners up to Hucknall – whether you want to play for fun or get involved in Festivals, come along and get involved.
