Get to know Amie

I lead our Place-Based Expansion work in East Staffordshire. My role connects what matters to local people with how decisions are made, recognising how policy, funding, culture, and place shape access to movement. I bring partners together to listen, collaborate, and strengthen what already exists, linking insight from communities with strategic decision-making and challenging systems to work better for those they serve.

What do Together Active’s values mean to you and your role?

Collaboration is key. This involves active listening and effective, transparent communication. A big part of my work is ensuring that collaboration is grounded in co-production, equitable inclusion and transparency between partners. Creating and curating actionable principles is key to systems change.

What does Together Active’s mission mean to you?

It’s encouraging because we are working to address the root causes of health inequalities, rather than repeating the same mistakes that exclude and marginalise people.

What does inclusion and access in physical activity mean to you?

Building inclusive spaces for physical activity means creating safe environments where people can build confidence, connect with their bodies, and better understand themselves. It’s about being given and giving yourself the opportunity and tools to become the healthiest version of yourself.
