Who We Are

Together Active (formerly known as Sport Across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent) is a local charity which forms part of a national network of 43 Active Partnerships.

We are funded by Sport England, our local authorities and our universities. As a strategic organisation, we work behind the scenes to create the conditions for physical activity and sport to happen across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.

We do this by coordinating and commissioning programmes, providing information, advice and guidance and working lobbying and influencing systems to create change.

The essence of what we do is joining dots, driving improvement and sparking collaborations.

Together Active’s PMIF/Quest assessment

Together Active (as SASSOT) recently went through an external PMIF/Quest assessment.  We are proud to say that we achieved a ‘Good’ rating across all areas.

PMIF (or the Performance Management and Improvement Framework, to give it its full name) is Sport England’s version of Quest for County Sports Partnerships, and is their new way of measuring the effectiveness of Active Partnerships.

The two-day assessment took place on 17th to 18th December, and was the culmination of a lot of self-assessment and evidence gathering both from within the team and Board, and with a wide range of our partners.  Our Board and staff team believe this is a fair reflection of where we are at, at this point in time, and recognises how far we’ve travelled as an organisation since the launch of our new strategy and the restructure of our team and Board last year.

As with any process of this kind, various strengths and areas for improvement were identified by the assessor, and overall these echoed what we’d already identified during the initial self-assessment process.  Please find these areas within the report below.
