Meet Sam
Sam Newell is a senior communications and public engagement professional with experience in storytelling, media strategy, and major event promotion across international and charitable organisations. He has a strong background in leading communications for high-profile initiatives and building organisational narratives to drive awareness and impact.
He is currently Communications Director at the Invictus Games Foundation. Sam leads external and internal communications for the Invictus Games Foundation, the charity that governs and delivers the Invictus Games. In this capacity, he oversees digital, media, and broadcast output, as well as communications support for host cities and broader stakeholder engagement around the Games and related programmes.
Sam was part of the communications team for the inaugural Invictus Games London 2014, helping to shape early messaging and public awareness for the movement. Following the London Games, he worked with Step Up To Serve, the charity coordinating the #iwill Campaign for youth social action, demonstrating his experience in mission-driven communications beyond sport and veteran communities.
