Get to know Lottie

I lead on our strategy, insight, health and place work, and oversee communications. My role is about ensuring we stay aligned with our mission and priorities, making sure everything we do moves us towards designing out inactivity. Day to day, that includes developing partnerships, analysing insight and data, sharing our work externally, and influencing policy to advocate for our most excluded communities.

What do Together Active’s values mean to you and your role?

Our values underpin everything I do. We can only make real change by collaborating effectively with partners, listening and learning from our communities’ lived experience with compassion and care, being bold enough to try creative solutions to deep rooted barriers to activity, and designing inclusivity as standard. They guide how I approach our work and how I show up for my colleagues.

What does Together Active’s mission mean to you?

Making a conscious effort to design out inactivity is the only way we’ll drive real change in access and opportunity for our most excluded communities in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent. Systems should be designed around the people they serve, listening to real-life challenges and enabling everyone to be active in a way that fits their lives. Too often, inclusivity is retrofitted, which never achieves true integration and leaves people out. I believe in genuine inclusion and equity, and Together Active’s mission speaks directly to that.

What does inclusion and access in physical activity mean to you?

Inclusion and access in physical activity spaces means people being treated with dignity, having autonomy over their choices, and experiencing flexible approaches that adapt to different circumstances. It’s about creating a genuine sense of belonging, where everyone can access activity and feel comfortable, supported, safe, and seen as an individual.
