In April 2014, a Community Sports Leaders Award took place in Stoke-on-Trent. Students from this course came from Stoke 6th Form College, Staffordshire University, Stafford College and StreetGames at Stoke-on-Trent City Council. They are completing their 10 voluntary hours of leadership in the community but they are also volunteers for the School Games programme in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.

As part of the Girls Active project, a Level 1 Award in Sports Leadership and Level 1 Award in Dance Leadership was run in Cannock. The girls are now completing 30 extra minutes of leadership back in the community including a swimming club, dance school, football club and youth dance project.
