Indoor School Tournaments

Cricket StumpsTeams from Abbey Hill, Cedars, Meadows and Watermill Special Schools took part in an indoor cricket tournament at Fenton Manor Leisure Centre, thanks to all the pupils and staff for a great day’s cricket, for the record, Watermill came out on top.  A similar tournament will be held at Aldersley Leisure Village for schools in the south of the county, on Wednesday 5th April.

The team are looking forward to their first fixture in the ECB Visual Impairment Cricket Regional League with an away fixture v Worcestershire on Sunday 7th May. We  have an outdoor training programme at Wolverhampton CC to prepare the guys for their schedule of matches – come along and have a go.

Ability Cricket

The Ability Team start their matches in the ECB Super9s with an away fixture away v Derbyshire on Sunday 7th May at Darley Abbey CC – outdoor training starts at Newcastle & Hartshill CC on Saturday 22nd April, 9.30-11am.

We have also been invited to take part in an indoor competition at Old Trafford, home of Lancashire County Cricket Club on Sunday 23rd April, a great experience for our players.

Table CricketTable Cricket

After coming through the local competitions, teams from Penn Hall and Wightwick special schools will be representing Staffordshire in the Lord Taverners Regional Finals on Wednesday 10th May at Edgbaston.

VI Cricket

The guys completed their indoor Winter training programme and are now looking forward to starting outdoors at Wolverhampton CC on Sunday 9th April, 2-4pm.

Walking Cricket

It’s 12 months since we did a pilot for Walking Cricket for the ECB and the local Age-UK Office, we now we have a group established on Monday nights 6-7.30pm currently at the Excel Academy, Sneyd Green until Easter Monday but moving to Clayton Sports Centre from Monday 24th April, still 6-7.30pm, come along and give it a go.
