Staffordshire FA Offers Insight Session In The Build Up To Girls Football Week

Wednesday 7th June 2017

FA Girls’ Football Week is a national campaign that sees a number of organisations get involved to promote, celebrate and increase girls participation. This is something we eagerly support in Staffordshire and have previously gained great response during these weeks. 2016 saw Staffordshire engage with 5,832 girls overall within all FA Girls Football Week Activities. The target engagement for the county over the 3 week period this summer is 4,000 with a second FA Girls’ Football Week happening in November of which we hope to engage with 1,500 girls.

FA Girls’ Football Week which will be taking place across a 3 week period over the summer and will run alongside the Women’s Euro 2017 celebrations. The dates for both events are Sunday 16th July- Sunday 6th August.

Although the name of this campaign is FA Girl’s football Week it is for female’s of all ages- and there are many different ways in which you can get involved and then record your activity and numbers to help us reach our target and help us celebrate female football around the county.

Staffordshire FA encourage all partners to get involved and celebrate female football, whether you already have female provision or not!

In preparation for this event Staffordshire FA would like to invite all interested persons/organisations to an insight evening at Wyrley Juniors FC on Wednesday 21st June– free of charge, this evening aims to share best practice on how best to engage with females and gain great success during the week. There will be a number of areas being delivered on this evening, these include; FA Girls Football Week activities, delivering exciting and engaging sessions, Promoting sessions, monitoring and recording sessions, engaging with females and more.
