EnviroGrant Scheme
The EnviroGrant Scheme has been set up by Veolia in partnership with Staffordshire County Council to help local people improve their environment or community, with grants of up to £1000
Are you part of a not-for-profit group or society seeking to make a positive difference to your Community? Do you have plans for improvements that will make your environment a better place to live and visit? Would your group benefit from financial support in order to continue the good work you do in your community?
The EnviroGrant scheme covers the following types of projects and schemes:
Those which contribute to the protection or improvement of the local environment, through practical action or education, promotion, awareness raising and marketing
Those which improve the quality of life for the local community, by improving or providing new facilities including equipment and running costs
Funding will only be awarded for new projects and not retrospectively
Applications for the next round of Grants opened on 4 September 2017 and will close on 27 October 2017.

The Aviva Community Fund is now open!
Do you know a local project that needs funding?
For community projects, an ordinary thing can mean everything, but funding can be a problem. The Aviva Community Fund is back, offering support and funding to causes that make a real difference where you live.
The Aviva Community Fund will finance over 500 projects across four different fund levels and four categories, giving our awards to communities throughout the UK.
If your project gets enough votes and wows our judges, it will be in with a chance of receiving those much-needed funds.
You can apply for one of these four funding levels:
Up to £1,000 (380 awards)
Up to £5,000 (40 awards)
Up to £10,000 (20 awards)
Up to £25,000 (8 awards)
We want to recognise the support given to communities through our previous Aviva Broker Community Fund.
To be eligible, your project must enrich the community, making positive changes to people’s lives in one of these four categories:
- Health and wellbeing – The health and wellbeing category aims to help people take control of their physical and mental health. This is the category for any project linked to physical or mental health, sport, outdoor pursuits or anything of that nature.
- Skills for life – The skills for life category aims to help communities and individuals improve their lives by learning useful new skills, particularly digital ones. Projects in this category can help people of all ages – from schools to groups for older people – develop skills to make their lives easier or more fulfilling.
- Community support – The community support category aims to help communities make their surroundings and aspects of their life sustainable. From regeneration projects to local support groups, this category offers support for anything that is important to your wider community, including community events.
- Inclusivity – The inclusivity category aims to help projects bring people together, no matter what their faith, colour, gender, abilities or sexual orientation. Projects in this category will help build relationships and develop closer ties within the community.

England Athletics – Ron Pickering Memorial Fund – Applications for grants now open
Athletes between the ages of 15 and 23 can apply for grants from Ron Pickering Memorial Fund. The deadline for applications is Sunday 19 November 2017. Grants to athletes over 23 may be made in exceptional circumstances.

The FA and Football Foundation launch £300,000 Futsal Fund
The Football Association and Football Foundation have today (Monday 18 September) launched a £300,000 fund aimed at developing the sport of Futsal in England.
Futsal is a five-a-side game, normally played on a flat indoor pitch with hockey-sized goals and a size-four ball that has a reduced bounce. The exciting, fast-paced sport is played across the world and is officially recognised by both UEFA and FIFA.
County FAs, youth football leagues, youth Futsal leagues, schools (excluding primary level), senior colleges and sixth forms are being encouraged to apply for a ‘Futsal starter pack’, which includes Futsal-specific equipment including goals, balls and bibs, as well as FA accredited coaching and refereeing courses.
The starter packs are designed to adapt existing sports halls, playgrounds and other hard surface facilities by providing new and existing players with the necessary tools and skills to develop and maintain Futsal leagues, competitions and fixtures across the country. Applications are now open and close at 5pm on Friday 6 October.
Specifically, applications in the following categories will be prioritised:
- Female Futsal (12-18 years)
- Youth Futsal (14 years-and-over)
- Youth football leagues (U14-to-U18)
- Association of Colleges (AoC) members with facilities offering community usage
- English Schools’ Football Association (ESFA) and Independent Schools Football Association (ISFA) member schools with facilities offering community usage
Big Lottery – Awards for All
Awards for All is a small grants programme provided by the Big Lottery Fund with the aim of funding projects that will improve the quality of life for local communities. Grants are available for voluntary and community groups, charities, not-for-profit organisations, and statutory bodies, including schools and town councils, to carry out projects.
Applications may be submitted at any time. Amount – £300 – £10,000
Carriers for Causes – One Stop via Groundwork
Carriers for Causes grants are available for good causes within two miles of a One Stop shop. Grants, of up to £1000 will be available to support projects that ‘benefit local communities – helping to improve lives and local places .
