Tip of the month!

Insight, research and statistical data sets are all vital in both developing a need for a project idea and evaluating impact. Therefore, making sure that the information being gathered is effectively analysed is equally important.

I mentioned in a previous publication back in June about the importance of ensuring that both the author and sources are credible in order to add validity to the research analysis.

However, the ability to be critical of the information that is being gathered is another essential step when analysing information. Considering other influential factors, such as social issues, will help to provide a wider picture.

For example:

Example source 1: ‘More people are physically active in Staffordshire’

Example source 2: ‘However, 50% of young people do not currently completing the recommended 60 minutes physical activity a day’

Learning: Whilst more people are active in Staffordshire, there remains a requirement to support young people in becoming more active.

Remember: Being critical will help you, not harm you!
