Christmas Santa Hunt

From Monday 9th to Sunday 15th December, the leisure centres will have hidden Santa heads each displaying a letter.

Find all 8 letters to unscramble a Christmas word, then enter the correct word into a prize draw to win goodies.

But BEWARE, find a Grinch and you will have to complete a forfeit challenge!

To enter, simply collect an entry card from your nearest leisure centres reception and look for the Santa heads on display.

Good luck to everyone!

Commonwealth Success

Congratulations to Carl Holland, Wombourne and Codsall Leisure Centres resident Judo instructor. Carl is the new Judo Commonwealth Champion 2019.

Carl was crowned Commonwealth champion in the Veteran under 60kg category, adding another prize to the armful of titles held by the 42-year-old this year.

They include triumphs in both the British Championship and Scottish Open.

The string of success is even more remarkable because he is also a coach at the South Staffs Judo Club based in Codsall, but still manages to balance his training with teaching younger players the sport.

You can watch Carl receiving the award here.

Penkridge Leisure Centre opens its pool

Penkridge Leisure Centre staff were delighted to find out and announce on 16th October 2019 that their pool was reopening after a lengthy shutdown following a breakdown of the plant equipment.

The pool which closed in July as a result of the air handling failing was used by the general public for adults only swims, ‘funtime’ sessions and more; and also provided award-winning swimming lessons as part of the South Staffordshire Swim Academy.

The leisure centre management originally planned to reopen the pool in November but when the parts arrived earlier than expected, they were thrilled to be able to reopen a couple of weeks earlier.

Staff at the leisure centre would like to thank all of the customers for their patience and loyalty during the closure.

National Fitness Day Success

South Staffordshire Council’s leisure centres held a competition for customers to enter as part of National Fitness Day.

From 23rd-29th September, customers were challenged to take part in 5 sports activities during the week to include the gyms, classes, swimming and toning suites.

Those that managed to complete the 5 activities were drawn at random to be in with the chance of winning some great prizes including a Fit Bit Versa, fee-free months, and sports bottles and gym towels.
