Visual Impairment Cricket

Indoor training sessions at Wolverhampton University, City Sports Centre, Wulfruna Street, Wolverhampton, WV1 1LY, start on Sunday 19th January, 2-4pm

Ability Cricket

The Ability Cricket representative squad indoor training sessions commence at Clayton Sports Centre, Newcastle on Saturday 30th November, 11:30am-1:30pm.

Kieron McKinney has recently returned from Australia where he represented England LD in their recent ODI and T20 series v Australia LD, England LD coming out 8-0 winners.  On batsmen friendly wickets, England set big targets and then it was down to the bowlers to limit Australia, Kieron played his part in 6 matches and took 10 wickets.

Ian Martin, ECB’s Head of Disability Cricket, said: “I couldn’t be prouder of all the players and staff who’ve achieved this fantastic result.  Australia is a tough place to play cricket as a touring England side and these boys have excelled in challenging conditions to win all eight matches on the tour.

They’re an inspiration to us all and our hope is that the quality of cricket on show at the INAS Global Games will inspire more nations to back Learning Disability cricket and make this a truly international tournament next time round.”

 Well done Kieron, a real inspiration and fantastic reward for the work he has put in over the last 2 years.

Table Cricket

Through investment from the Lord’s Taverners, we now have an extensive coaching programme for developing Table Cricket which will lead to 4 local competitions across the county before February 2020 half-term, leading into the Regional Finals held at Edgbaston and the Table Cricket finals being hosted at Lord’s Cricket Ground.

Walking Cricket

The second Staffordshire Walking Cricket Festival takes place at Fenton Manor Sports Centre, 10am-2pm on Tuesday 10th December. 

As the name suggests the game is played at walking place and as well as delivering cricketing skills to players who may not have played for a while, or to new players, the format provides an exciting way to keeping active and fit.  Aimed at people over the age of 50, the game also is able to provide an opportunity for people to socialise and get involved in a very interesting format of the game.

We have 6 well-established Walking Cricket groups so there’s plenty of opportunities to get involved.
