Active Lives Adult Survey results released

Wednesday 23rd October 2019

The latest update of the Active Lives Survey has been released and it’s positive news for Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent!

A majority of our local authority areas have seen an increase in the number of residents becoming active; distinctively in Cannock Chase which has seen a decrease of inactivity by 7% from the previous year.

Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent as an Active Partnership area has also seen decrease in physical inactivity (28.1%) which is now below the regional averages in the West Midlands (28.4%).

The statistics also means that over 8000 inactive residents in our county in May 2018 have now become active.

However, there is still more work to be done! Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent’s ‘active’ rate (58.5%) still falls below the national average for physical activity, so it’s important to remain focused to achieving this goal of everyone becoming more active, more often!
