Will you be leading activities with children and young people this summer?

If you work with children and young people, you may want to think about your safeguarding practice.

What is safeguarding?

Safeguarding is protecting from harm. It is everyone’s business and when you lead or contribute to activities with children you have a duty of care to make sure those children are safe.

What can you do?

There are some steps you can take to make sure you are doing this as best you can. For example, your employer or licenser will make sure you have a current Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate and you may want to do some safeguarding training, which is important for those leading activities with children and young people.
