British Canoeing- Rafting Qualifications

British Canoeing offer three Rafting qualifications. These awards cover controlled stadium venues, as well as natural rivers. Training and assessment covers personal paddling skills, rescue skills, safety and group skills and theory.

  • Stadium Raft Guide: The Stadium Raft Guide award is aimed at anyone over the age of 18 who would like to take groups of people white water rafting on a man made artificial site such as CIWW, Nottingham, Lee Valley etc.
  • River Raft Guide: The River Raft Guide award is aimed at anyone over the age of 18 who would like to take groups of people white water rafting on natural rivers.
  • River Trip Leader: The River Trip Leader award is aimed at the experienced River Raft Guide who progresses to be in charge of the flotilla of rafts on a natural river.
