Make VAT a less taxing subject for your sports club, with our new guidance

For many clubs, understanding tax and its implications can be a real challenge, which is why we are pleased to launch new VAT Guidance.

The VAT Guidance is designed to help you and your club understand the basics of VAT, know when you should register for VAT and under what circumstances you may be exempt or can claim back VAT.

Understanding your VAT obligations is particularly important if you are planning or currently undergoing a capital project.

Let’s make sport everyone’s game

Sport should be enjoyed by everyone – regardless of race, age, gender, disability or sexual orientation. Club Matters has teamed up with Stonewall, a charity focused on promoting the rights and wellbeing of LGBT people, to share a new sports toolkit with you.

The “Make Sport Everyone’s Game” toolkit is full of reasons to make your club more inclusive, techniques for spotting and eliminating discriminatory behaviour and top-tips for where to go for further support or resources.

Register and log-in to download the toolkit, or visit our Inclusivity page for more information on the topic. Source of information
