Funding Opportunities – 25 April 2017

Monday 24th April 2017

Small Grants Guide – Sport England.

Our Small Grants programme will focus funding on adults and young people aged 14 or over. Projects working with mixed age groups may be considered if there is a particular focus on people aged 14 plus. We want to fund eligible organisations that get more people engaged in sport and meet one or more of the aims in our strategy, which are to:

  • Get inactive people to become more active
  • Develop more resilient sporting habits
  • Lead to more positive attitudes among young people
  • Develop more diverse volunteers
  • Improve progression and inclusion in talent development

Playing Fields Legacy Fund

The Playing Fields Legacy Fund provides grants of up to £10,000 to voluntary organisations that run or manage playing fields. Applicants will be expected to secure a major percentage of the total eligible project costs from other sources, and we strongly urge applicants to involve local businesses and other funding partners.

Above all, we expect that the project, once completed, will result in more people using playing fields to take part in outdoor sport. Please view the Frequently Asked Questions, which can be downloaded by clicking the link below, for guidance on eligibility.

Applications are welcomed from: County Playing Field Associations, voluntary sector sports clubs, City, Town and Parish Councils, Registered charities, not-for-profit organisations, local authorities and industrial and provident societies.

PFLF will consider providing funding for projects including:

  • pitch improvements
  • the construction of new pitches on existing sites and new sites
  • renovation of changing rooms or community rooms
  • feasibility studies for any of the above
  • to unlock funding from trusts and statutory grant-giving bodies, such as Sport England
