- Positive activities for young people with the aim of reducing anti-social behaviour (ASB) in a local community
- Mentoring programmes for targeted groups in a community through to funding reassurance activities
- Respect events in specific areas
- Applicants must be able to demonstrate the project will support one of the four priority areas set out in the Safer, Fairer, United Communities Strategy; Early intervention, Supporting Victims and Witnesses, Managing Offenders and Public Confidence

The High Sheriff Fund – closing date: 7th September 2017
Awards small grants of up to £500 to small community groups across Staffordshire, where they have a specific need.
- Groups should be based in and working within Staffordshire
- Your annual income should be less than £30,000
- You should have reserves of less than 1 years income
- Groups should have a constitution
- If awarded a grant it should make a visible difference to the project
- Groups should be working to relieve poverty or disadvantage
- Be working to provide a service that would otherwise be realistically unobtainable
- Our grant should deliver value for money
- Our grant should secure maximum community use or benefit
- We would prefer to fund equipment or training costs associated with one off or annual events, as opposed to running costs for them.

Staffordshire’s Road Safety Grant Fund – closing date: 14th September 2017
As a pilot initiative, the Staffordshire Safer Roads Partnership is providing, through a bidding process, £200,000 over the next 2 years in the form of the Road Safety Grant Fund.
The money has been made available to:
- improve road safety
- increase public confidence in the safety of Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire’s roads
- support communities to take local responsibility
The Staffordshire Safer Roads Partnership is keen to support locally driven community road safety activities.
Activities should aim to address an identified road safety issue which is of concern to the community.
The Partnership would welcome a wide range of bids and encourage inventive thinking in how the funding could be used to make a positive difference in your communities.
The initial funding round invites applications to be submitted between 1 August and 14 September 2017. Further funding rounds will be held every 6 months. The Guidance Notes document below includes all the information you need to know about applying for a Road Safety Grant.

Co-op Local Community Fund re-opens
Co-op Local Community Fund distributes money raised from own brand products and carrier bag sales to local good causes chosen by its members. The next round of funding is now open and applications forms are available on the website. Deadline 8 August.
To apply to be a Co-op cause you must have a project or event in mind that:
- takes place in the UK or Isle of Man
- doesn’t have religious or political aims (although you can still apply if you’re a religious organisation)
- meets the Co-op’s values
- takes place or will still be running after October 2018
- benefits your local community
We’ll give preference to projects run by small, local organisations.
You can’t use money from the fund solely to pay for staff salaries or general running costs, or to make a donation to another organisation.
To apply you’ll need:
- your organisation’s charity or HMRC registration number, or proof you’re an excepted charity, Scout or Guide group or registered Community Amateur Sports club
Skipton Building Society’s Grassroots Giving
Skipton Building Society’s Grassroots Giving community funding scheme has now launched for 2017 – and this year we have a total fund of £82,000 to help small groups and organisations make a difference in their neighbourhood.
This year, there are 164 pots of £500 to give away to support the development of local grassroots groups from across the UK.
Grassroots Giving aims to support small community groups which might not normally attract any sort of funding. Organisations should show a real commitment to their local community and enhance the lives of the neighbourhoods they are running within. Groups should have an annual net profit of less than £10,000.
Grants of £500 are available for projects that are able to demonstrate a lasting impact, that can show they will be helping to build a legacy for the community.
The winners will be chosen by a public vote after being shortlisted.
The deadline for applications is 31 July 2017.

Locality – Applications now open for the Impact Management Programme
Learn how to make a real impact with funders, investors and commissioners. The Impact Management Programme has been designed to build the capacity and provide support for charities and social enterprises seeking to manage their impact. The programme supports groups to analyse and respond to their impact data – using it to change and improve programmes and services. This will help groups to increase social impact and diversify income.
