Raise money for your school, the Trust Bruce Foundation and Cancer Research UK!

The Time 4 Sport team have been thinking of how we can raise money for schools, the Trust Bruce Foundation and Cancer Research. These two charities are very close to the team’s heart after losing two very important people, Mark ‘Bruce’ Robinson, and Peter Henderson.

  • 25% of money raised will go to the The Trust Bruce Foundation
  • 25% of money raised will go to Cancer Research
  • 50% of Money raised will go to your school

Time 4 Sport are also keen to raise money for schools to help you grow your PE, Sport, Health and Wellbeing offer for their children and families.

So how are we going to do this?

Well we need your support to walk to Tokyo! Why Tokyo? This years Olympics and Paralympic games are due to held in Tokyo. Starting on the 24th July running until 6th September. So this gives us 16 weeks from March, (not including school holidays) to get to Tokyo.

In Staffordshire we are about 6000 miles away from Tokyo. So the aim for each school (as we will try to get as many as possible involved) is to travel to Tokyo by walking there (motivation to do the daily mile).

Meaning each school would need to walk 375 miles a week to get there by the 10th July. This maybe 375 children doing 1 mile a week or 188 doing 2 miles a week for example. Miles will be clocked up on the school yard/fields and reported back on a weekly basis by the nominated Travel to Tokyo School Lead.

We would like to end the fundraiser by 10th July, as we would like to reward the school who raises the most money a cash boost from the Trust Bruce Foundation and the school who travels the furthest distance (divided by the number of children in years 1-6). Will also benefit from free activities from Time 4 Sport in the academic year 2020-21.

All money raised will also be handed out w/c 13th July.

Sounds good, but how will we raise money?

We will send out a starter pack/donation forms to all schools wanting to take part. Each child in Years 1-11 can participate. Taking home a donation form stating why we are raising money and with an optional £5/£10/donation. In addition to this, to save the admin we will set up each school a just giving page, where parents, grandparents and schools can donate/transfer money online.
