Who is Sported?
Sported is a leading Sport for Development Charity, supporting over 3,000 amazing community clubs and groups that use the power of sport to transform the lives of disadvantaged young people.
Sported members are run by an incredible group of passionate and dedicated people. These club leaders and volunteers are brilliant role models, skilled coaches and do some amazing work in their communities.
While they are excellent at delivering activities, they often lack the resources or time for the fundamental things that make an organisation sustainable; such as business planning, financial management and governance.
This is where our volunteers come in !
It is a very exciting time for Sported and our volunteers. We have brand new opportunities for volunteers to support Sported members and make a lasting difference to these organisations and their communities. These opportunities can range from a longer term commitment from 3-6 months, to providing short term assistance by phone or email. We also have specialist opportunities developing in areas including impact and evaluation.
As we offer a bespoke service to our members, the requests for support, and therefore our opportunities for volunteers are flexible and varied.
What do Sported volunteers do?
Our volunteers can help support our members across with UK anything from a one off phone call, delivering a workshop or a full 6 month mentor project.
Our volunteers have experience in at least 1 of the below and are happy to support clubs in their area of expertise:
- Fundraising
- Business
- PR & Marketing
- Impact & Evaluation
- Governance
- Finance
- Strategic Planning
