Join Our Team: Physical Activity Adviser

Together Active is on a mission to revolutionise the way we think about and engage in physical activity. Our vision is bold: to design out inactivity and create a future where everyone has the opportunity to be active, improving their physical and mental wellbeing. To bring this vision to life, we’re looking for a passionate Physical Activity Adviser to join our team. This role is not just a job; it’s a chance to make a significant impact on the health and happiness of communities across the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.

About the Role:
As a Physical Activity Adviser, you’ll be at the heart of our efforts, providing expert knowledge and support both within Together Active and to external organisations. Reporting to the Head of Policy and Strategy, this part-time role (21 hours per week) offers a hybrid working arrangement and a salary of £35,000 per annum (pro-rata). You’ll work closely with our Development Officer – Workforce, playing a critical role in developing, implementing, and promoting evidence-based practices, policies, and programmes that facilitate safe, effective, and inclusive physical activity experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Evidence-Based Programme Development: Ensure all programmes commissioned are rooted in the latest research, emphasising safety, effectiveness, and inclusivity.
Quality Assurance: Oversee the delivery of physical activity programmes, maintaining high standards and achieving desired outcomes.
Training and Resource Identification: Collaborate in sourcing appropriate training and resources to support our work with diverse groups, including those with long-term conditions and SEND.
Partnership and Collaboration: Build and maintain relationships with health professionals and community connectors to enhance physical activity provision and identify gaps in support.
Research and Evaluation: Conduct research on physical activity recommendations and evaluate the impact of funded programmes to inform future initiatives.
Community Engagement: Assist in identifying and promoting suitable community-based physical activity opportunities, focusing on inclusivity and accessibility.

Your Impact:

Driving Inclusivity: Your work will ensure that inclusivity, improved physical health outcomes, and mental wellbeing are central to Together Active’s programmes and areas of work.
Enhancing Knowledge: Elevate Together Active as a leading source of high-quality information, influencing partners to integrate physical activity into robust health programmes.
Building Capacity: Equip our team and partners with the knowledge and tools needed to deliver impactful physical activity experiences to a variety of populations.

We Want to Hear From You If:
– You’re passionate about helping people access physical activity and reducing inequalities.

– You have worked in healthcare in the past, perhaps in physiotherapy or rehab.

– You may not meet every single requirement, but you have a strong desire to make a difference in people’s lives.

This role is an opportunity to leverage your skills and passion to contribute to a healthier, more active society. If you’re motivated by the challenge of designing out inactivity and have a commitment to creating inclusive, effective physical activity opportunities, we encourage you to apply.

Your enthusiasm for making a difference and your expertise in fostering inclusive physical activity experiences can help us advance our mission. If this opportunity speaks to your passion and skills, we look forward to receiving your application.
