Uttoxeter Healthy Families Programme

Following funding administered by Staffordshire County Council on behalf of East Staffordshire Local Strategic Partnership, East Staffordshire Borough Council are offering a FREE Health and Wellbeing programme in Uttoxeter aimed at giving families the opportunity to lead a more active and healthy lifestyle by becoming involved in a range of activities on the Health Families programme.

Activities and sessions will run over an 11 week term, starting on Friday 15th January at the Heath Community Centre from 6pm.

Throughout the programme families will receive accurate, up to date and consistent information on things to do in your local area, including the use of green spaces, sessions that are widely available at local leisure centres and activities that can be quickly transferred on to the local park. Making them easy to set up and fun to play anytime.

All activities will be both exciting and age appropriately challenging whilst maintaining a high level of fun and competition.

Applications and Nominations are now invited for the 2016 East Staffordshire Sport Scholarship Awards

East Staffordshire is proud to boast a wealth of sporting talent and the annual awards provide the ideal opportunity to celebrate the various individuals, teams and clubs achievements from the past 12 months.

The highlight of the evening will again be the awarding of the Hilton at St Georges Park Sports Person of the Year award, who will follow in the footsteps of former winners, which include former

Burton Albion player Daren Stride, England Netballer Olivia Murphy and Last year’s winner GB Swimmer the current World Champion and World Record holder at both 50m & 100m Breaststroke Adam Peaty

Nominations are also sought for the following categories

  • Young Sport Volunteer of the Year
  • Sports Coach of the Year
  • Disabled Performer of the Year
  • Sports Administrator of the Year
  • Junior Team of the Year
  • Senior Team of the Year
  • Junior Sports Person of the Year
  • Sports Un-Sung Hero

Elite Sports Performers and Coaches who have achieved in their chosen sport at regional level or above can also apply for Grant Aid to help them with training and competition costs, to assist them in achieving full national and international honours.

The full criteria for applying for grant aid and making nominations is available on the Council’s website at www.eaststaffsbc.gov.uk, along with both downloadable and online application and nomination form.

Hard copies of the forms can also be picked up from local Leisure Centres, and the Customer Service Centres. Deadline for applications and nominations is Friday 8th January 2016.
