Back to Netball

Fun and friendly Netball sessions for people of all ages wanting to try or get back into the sport

Wombourne and Cheslyn Hay Leisure Centres both offer ‘Back to Netball’ sessions which are fun and friendly sessions aimed at people of all ages wanting to try or get back into netball. All abilities are welcome to join in!

Back to Netball sessions are at Cheslyn Hay on Thursday evenings, 7-8pm

Wombourne sessions will be re-starting on Tuesday 5th September and will run every Tuesday 6.30-7.30pm

Cost of the sessions are just £2.50

BadmintonBadminton Mash Up

Penkridge Leisure Centre have recently introduce some Badminton Mash Up sessions which are for people of all ages and abilities to give badminton a try.

New sessions have recently started at Penkridge Leisure Centre to encourage people to come and give badminton a try, regardless of their age or ability. The sessions are very friendly however there is a badminton coach available at the session, therefore people have the choice to take part in a friendly game or make use of the coach who can help to improve technique.

The Badminton Mash Up sessions are held in the sportshall at Penkridge Leisure Centre on Monday evenings from 8-9pm and cost just £3 per session. To book call the leisure centre on 01785 714152.


 

Walking Football
Walking football game Penkridge v Burntwood which went ahead a couple of months ago. Although Penkridge lost 6-0, it was a good evening and enjoyed by all.

Walk your way back into fitness and re-discover your competitive side with Penkridge Leisure Centres Walking Football sessions.

Penkridge Leisure Centre are running Walking Football sessions to encourage people to walk their way back into fitness. The sessions are ideal for those wanting to get back into fitness and have a game of football just like they used to.  A great chance to meet new people, make friends and re-discover their competitive side.

The Walking Football sessions are held every Monday evening at Penkridge Leisure Centres 3G pitch from 6-7pm at a cost of just £3 per session.

The Walking Football sessions are fun and friendly and although occasional games may be organised, participants have the choice to compete or just join in for friendly games.

Wolves Academy Talent ID Roadshow is coming to Penkridge Leisure Centre on the following dates:

The sessions are being held 5-6pm for under 7s and under 8s.

John CoxCheslyn Hay Member Success

Cheslyn Hay Leisure Centre are delighted that one of their regular members, John Cox after months of exercising and eating healthily has managed to completely transform his life by losing 9 stone!

‘I was that big, I could steer the bus with my belly’: Driver John ditches the pizza to lose nine stone. It wasn’t vanity that drove 22 stone John Cox to swap slap-up meals for salads – it was his snoring. John Cox began to lose weight and is now at a fit and healthy 13 stone, total weight loss of over 8 stone !!

As well as his life changing diet, Josh is a regular user of the gym at Cheslyn Hay Leisure Centre.

It is great that Cheslyn Hay are able to share John’s story in hope that his journey will help to prove that change is possible and encourage other people to get fit and be healthy.

Affordable Leisure

SwimmingSouth Staffordshire Council’s leisure centres offer a great range of facilities and scheme to help people to keep fit and be healthy.

South Staffordshire Council’s leisure centres provide a great range of facilities with various schemes and membership packages to not only suit everyone’s needs but also their budgets.

The centres offer swimming pools, gyms, toning suites, cycling studios, badminton and squash courts, 3G pitches, and extensive programmes of exercise classes. In addition to the facilities, there are also several schemes which have been developed to help people access facilities and encourage healthy living.

Some of the schemes available include ‘Forward to Health’ which is a 12 week programme with a fitness expert to help people with medical conditions get on track with exercise to improve their health;

The centre offers discounts for students, apprentices, and corporates a scheme called Leisure Linx offering discounts for people in receipt of specific benefits.

There are also a range of activities for children including the South Staffordshire Swim Academy, trampolining, gymnastics, football coaching, judo, and Active Youth fitness sessions.
