Penkridge Leisure Centre proudly announce Members Awarded with the President’s Seal

Penkridge Leisure Centre is delighted to share the achievements of 5 members of their Junior Lifeguard Academy.  The Academy members are:

  • Andrew Fellows, age 9
  • Ryan Cook, age 13
  • Elliot Smith, age 13
  • Luke Wood, age 12
  • Jessica Baggott, age 13

These children were recently awarded with The Presidents Seal Certification which is  the highest award in the STA’s Junior Lifeguard Academy Programme.  As part of this award, the children had to complete Seal 1-5 badges, then go on to  complete a total of 10 missions from each STA strand,  which consisted of:

  • STA Distance Swim
  • Life Skills including First and CPR
  • Development skills in activities such as diving, water polo or synchro
  • Lifesaving Physical Challenges such as Ocean awareness and Inland Open Water
  • Sports Strand in speed focussing on beach, pool and lifesaving skills
  • Health and Wellbeing including hazard awareness, pool safety and safe communities.

Members Awarded with the President’s SealThe young members were presented with their certificates by the STA and STAnley seal on 27th September.

Penkridge Leisure Centre would like to congratulate all of the children and give special thanks to their swimming teachers Carol Rafferty and Ben Biddle for all of their hard work.
