Sportivate – participant and project nominations wanted…
The Sportivate Awards will run again in this year 2016. As last year there will be a “project of the year” and “participant of the year” award again.
Deadline to send forms in is 17:00 Friday 10th June 2016.
Please return forms to me at cgreenwood@staffordbc.gov.uk The Sportivate Awards will be for projects and participants from Year 5 (1st April 2015 – 31st March 2016).
There will be regional winner for each category and each regional winner will go through to a National panel where the top three will receive prizes at the Houses of Parliament in London. We have a good track record with these awards:
- 2012 – Burton Rugby Club – Regional Winner ‘Project of the Year’
- 2013 – AnnMarie Hordell from Aston 101 Disability Cricket Club, Stone – Regional Winner ‘Participant of the Year’
- 2013 – YMCA Free Runners – Regional Winner and runner up Nationally receiving £500 ‘Project of the Year’
- 2014 – Lauren Bostock from Gartmore Riding School – Regional Winner ‘Participant of the Year’
- 2015 – Danielle Pointon from Newcastle under Lyme – Regional Winner ‘Participant of the Year’
- 2015 – Quantico Court Activity, Stafford – National award Winner ‘Project of the Year’
Please refer to the information sheet and complete the nomination forms as per below (NB. there is a sheet at the end of the form entitled ’Tips for completing the form’). Deliverers will be best placed to nominate the participants. Project of the Year is always a struggle, as projects don’t tend to nominate themselves, so if you would like to discuss this with me prior to completing the form do give me a call.
Please do consider applying, I know there are some great projects and there are always participants that have been on an interesting and sometimes life changing journey. Let us know about them.
