Tamworth Change4Life Training & Festival

Friday 12th February 2016

On Wednesday 9th March The Rawlett School will host the Tamworth Change4Life Secondary Leadership Training followed by the Tamworth Primary School Change4Life Festival.  An hour of Leadership training will precede the festival in which all Tamworth Primary Schools are encouraged to bring up to 8 children who wouldn’t normally participate in school sports and/or afterschool clubs.

It is an all-inclusive festival aimed at getting the ‘Less active, Active’.

There will be a maximum of 12 stations at the festival each run by the specially trained Secondary School Leaders.

Stations include: Slalom Relay, Boccia, Goalball, New Age Kurling, Throws, Runs and Seated Volleyball. All the activities fall under the five multi-sport themes for primary schools which are; Adventure, Creative, Combat, Flight and Target.

Change4LifeThey are all designed to capture the essence of sport without directly delivering sport-specific content and to make children aware that there is more to clubs than just the standard popular games of football, rugby, etc.

The festival will also give the attending Teachers / PE co-ordinators / Head Teachers an insight into further clubs that they can set up and run in their schools in order to keep these children active.
