Together Active Launches Search for a Consultancy Partner to Build a Transformational Board

Tuesday 25th June 2024

Together Active has begun the search for a consultancy partner to lead a comprehensive governance review and board development programme. The initiative aims to bolster the charity’s effectiveness and agility to better serve the needs of the community, particularly focusing on the most overlooked and unheard populations in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.

With the charity recently undergoing significant changes, including the welcoming of new board members, this timely programme will be designed to refine governance processes and enhance decision-making capabilities.

“We are exceptionally privileged to have a board so rich in experience and dedication. The talent and commitment of our trustees are what drive us forward. With this new development programme, we hope to further harness their expertise, increasing cohesion and collaboration across both the board and the staff team,” says Carly Jones, CEO of Together Active.

Paul Muir, Chair of the Board, adds, “This is a pivotal moment for us. As we strengthen our governance structures, we also renew our commitment to our community. The board’s enhanced strategic involvement will ensure that we remain on the forefront of promoting physical activity as a catalyst for social change.”

Together Active welcomes proposals which consider targeted training sessions, dynamic workshops, and strategic team building activities, designed to enhance the skills and engagement of board members. A key measure of success will be that Together Active is supported by a robust, forward-thinking governance framework that adheres to the best practices in diversity, equity, and inclusion.

This ambitious programme is expected to be completed within 12 months and will not only enhance the operational effectiveness of Together Active but also its impact on the community.
