Together Active Welcomes New Chair of the Board of Trustees

Together Active is thrilled to announce the appointment of Paul Muir as the new Chair of the Board of Trustees.

“Paul brings a wealth of experience in social inclusion and tackling inequalities. He has a deep understanding of the challenges facing our communities across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent, and the role physical activity can play in reducing inequality. We are confident that under his leadership, Together Active will continue to make a positive impact in the communities we serve,” said Carly Jones, Together Active CEO.

 

She continued, “Paul has a strong background in health, social services and the third sector, and is committed to ensuring Together Active can achieve its vision of supporting more people to lead active, happy lives.”

Paul has 40 years’ experience of working in services to support better outcomes for people who are least heard and has worked across Staffordshire, Stoke on Trent and the wider West Midlands region.

On his appointment Paul said,

“I am honoured to be appointed as the new Chair of the Board of Trustees at Together Active.         Taking the role was a perfect opportunity to combine two of my passions – physical activity and inclusion. I believe that physical activity is essential for the overall wellbeing of individuals and communities, and I am excited to work with the team at Together Active to promote and support it.”

Together Active is a Staffordshire-based charity and Active Partnership dedicated to promoting physical activity in the community. Working in collaboration with local community organisations, local government and the healthcare service, they provide opportunities for people to be more active, particularly those who experience inequality.

The board of trustees and staff of Together Active extend a warm welcome to Paul Muir and are looking forward to working together to achieve their mission.
