Be part of the nation’s biggest sports day!

Thursday 28th July 2016

What are you doing on Saturday 27th August?  That’s when hundreds of thousands of people across the UK will be looking for ways to get out and get active in their community as part of I AM TEAM GB.

I AM TEAM GBBrought to you by ITV and The National Lottery, and supported by Join In and the British Olympic Association, I AM TEAM GB will be the nation’s biggest ever sports day. ITV will even be switching off their transmission for an hour across all channels to get the nation to get moving. At 9.30am on 27 August, the big switch off will see ITV’s seven channels come off air for an hour to encourage the great British public to get up and out and involved in sport at one of the many events happening across the country.

Why 27th August? I AM TEAM GB wanted to kick of the bank holiday with a celebration of Olympic and Paralympic sport and more. Saturday 27 August gives us a unique opportunity to celebrate the success of the Olympic Games and build on the nation’s enthusiasm as it turns its attention to the Paralympic Games and our ParalympicsGB athletes. I AM TEAM GB will be an inclusive event and will celebrate participation across all sports and physical activity groups. Olympians, fresh from Rio 2016, will be attending events across the nation giving the public the opportunity to stand should to shoulder with Team GB.
