Referee CPD Workshop
Staffordshire FA in partnership with the FA will be delivering a referee workshop designed to help learners acquire skills and knowledge to referee PAN-Disability Football effectively. We would like to invite any referees who have completed their FA Referee Course or FA Mini Soccer Course and would like to learn more about refereeing within PAN-Disability Football to come along to this FREE workshop.
Over the last few years disability football in Staffordshire has continued to grow with a range of mixed football activities across the county now available from recreational football & grassroots through to the disability talent pathway. We now have an established PAN-Disability Football League within Staffordshire called the Staffordshire Ability Counts League who currently have an Adults & U16’s league along with a developing U12’s section. As the league expands and the growth of disability football in the county continues we are looking for referee’s in the county to upskill & support our programmes in Staffordshire & beyond.

9am till 12pm – Theory
12.30pm till 2pm – Youth Ability Counts Fixtures (Practical – linked to Staffordshire Ability Counts League Fixtures)
2pm till 5pm – Adult Ability Counts Fixtures (Practical – linked to Staffordshire Ability Counts League Fixtures)
VENUE:
Penkridge Leisure Centre, Cannock Road, Stafford, ST19 5RX
WHO:
Open to all referees who have previously completed an FA Referee Course or FA Mini Soccer Course
OVERVIEW:
The workshop will aim to:
- Understand the communications skills necessary to referee disabled players
- Know what constitutes appropriate terminology when speaking to or about disabled players
- Be aware of welfare considerations when refereeing disabled players
- Know what the disability football landscape ‘looks like’
- Be aware of the opportunities available to referees of disability football (Both within Staffordshire & Nationally)
